OCEAN with David Attenborough, May 8, 2025
After seven decades of filming every aspect of the natural world, Sir David Attenborough delivers his greatest message of hope in the spectacular new film, OCEAN with David Attenborough, a Global Cinema Event launched on 8 May, which also coincides with Attenborough’s 99th birthday. Revive Our Ocean is a co-producer of the film.
Ocean Rise and Coastal Resilience Coalition Summit, June 7, 2025
Organized by the City of Nice and the Ocean Climate Platform, the Ocean Rise and Coastal Resilience Coalition summit brought together city leaders and coastal officials, including island mayors facing rising sea levels. To inspire mayors and local political leaders, we premiered one of our Revive Our Ocean short films, featuring Mayors who have implemented marine protected areas to the benefit of their constituents and local economies, to inspire other mayors and local political leaders to do the same.
Revive Our Ocean at Monaco’s Blue Economy Finance Forum, June 7-8, 2025
To kick off the week, Revive Our Ocean spoke at the Blue Economy Finance Forum (BEFF) in Monaco alongside leaders shaping a regenerative blue economy—one with marine protection at its core. The conversations at BEFF echoed a clear and consistent truth: a thriving ocean fuels thriving economies.
Revive Our Ocean at UN Ocean Conference (UNOC), June 9-12, 2025
The opening plenary of the United Nations Ocean Conference, where world leaders discussed the goal to reach 30% ocean protection by 2030, kicked off with the premiere of a Revive Our Ocean short film featuring Heads of State leading the way in ocean protection. With Oceano Azul Foundation, Atlas Aquatica, and Rare’s Coastal 500, Revive Our Ocean held “The Revive Our Ocean Collective: Coastal Communities at the Forefront of Marine Conservation.” The session showcased the power of traditional knowledge, co-management, and local leadership in advancing 30×30—with three Collective members helping build the global community of practice at the heart of Revive Our Ocean.
