How We Work
A New Model to Scale Coastal Marine Protected Areas
Revive Our Ocean is a global initiative that seeks to scale marine conservation efforts to boost ocean health and secure the future of the frontline communities and marine biodiversity that rely on it.
We aim to boost the power of people everywhere to protect 30 percent of the ocean by 2030 and to ensure a healthy future for all life on Earth – one where both nature and local economies thrive.
Theory of Change
Our theory of change is to showcase success stories of effective, coastal marine protection efforts to create demand at the local level – and inspire national governments to enable local governments to protect their local waters – so ultimately the norm is that every coastal town has a marine protected area, because it is good business.
