Stories spark energy, build understanding, and open doors to collaboration and lead to next steps in science, policy, and economics to create marine protected areas. Peer-to-peer communication is especially powerful: we listen best to those we see ourselves in.
Each film was created for a specific target audience to showcase the transformational ripple effect of MPAs through the voices of those who experience their benefits. The Heads of State and Mayors films are designed for political leaders and policymakers, while the Fisher and Tourism films speak to local ocean-dependent businesses. Two location-specific shorts spotlight success stories in Amorgos, Greece, and Gökova Bay, Türkiye. Filmed in Spain, Greece, Türkiye, the United States, the Philippines, and Indonesia, the films highlight local leadership and MPA success stories that deliver ecological, social, and economic benefits.

No, we kindly ask that you submit an individual form for each screening event you would like to host. This allows us to ensure you have access to the film and to better track its impact.
What languages is the film available in?
All films are presented in their original languages and include English subtitles.
How much do I have to pay to screen the film?
Revive Our Ocean is providing FREE access to the film for educational and community screenings, corporate employee screenings, and events for non-commercial purposes.
Can we share the film at a virtual event (i.e., over Zoom)?
No. The streaming link Revive Our Ocean is providing is for in-person events only. It cannot be used for virtual events as the film will not play on a virtual platform (i.e., Zoom).
Can we accept donations at our screening event?
No. The film’s legal terms specify that the film cannot be used for fundraising purposes, which includes donations.
You may also not charge a fee or sell tickets to attend the event. However, you are welcome to secure sponsors to cover the cost of the event.
Can we screen parts of the film instead of the full film?
No, the film must be shown in its entirety from start to finish, including Revive Our Ocean end card.
How long does it take for our application to be reviewed?
Please allow up to three weeks for your request to be processed.

How can we promote our event once it is approved?
Once your event is approved, we will share a screening and social toolkit via email with you that contains posters, social media copy, and more that you can use to promote the event.
Can I publish the film on social media or other web platforms?
No, the film, in whole or in part, may not be published on social media or other websites. It is provided for screening purposes only and may not be uploaded, posted, or distributed online without prior Revive Our Ocean permission.
Can I test the film before my event?
Yes, this is recommended. We strongly encourage you to test the film before your event to make sure the audio, video, and playback work properly. You can play the film as many times as needed before its expiration date.
