Thank you for your interest in screening Ocean with David Attenborough.

National Geographic is providing free access to the film for educational and community screenings, corporate employee screenings, and events for non-commercial purposes and permission will be granted upon individual review.

IMPORTANT: Screening requests are reviewed weekly by the Revive Our Ocean team, and it may take up to three weeks for your request to be processed. 

We understand that event organization might require resources. Please note that you cannot charge a fee or sell tickets to attend the screening, however you may secure sponsors to cover the cost of the event. It must be made clear that your organisation and/or event sponsors are not affiliated with the film and/or David Attenborough. If you secure sponsors please call them ‘event sponsors’.

Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email with a unique streaming link and access code to view the film online, along with guidelines and promotional materials to help you plan your event. Please note that the access code is valid for four viewings until the end of the year, so we recommend taking this into consideration when planning and testing the link for your screening.

How does Revive Our Ocean provide the film?

Revive Our Ocean is providing free access to the film for educational and community screenings, corporate employee screenings, and events for non-commercial purposes. This access is provided via a streaming link and unique access code that requires an internet connection to use.

I want to screen the film at a school or museum, how can I do that?

Educators at schools, universities, museums, and libraries can utilize the film for educational and charitable conferences and events for non-commercial purposes. If you are interested, visit National Geographic Society to submit a request.

Can I submit one request form for multiple proposed events?

No, we kindly ask that you submit an individual form for each screening event you would like to host. This allows us to better track the impact of the film.

How much do I have to pay to screen the film?

Revive Our Ocean is providing FREE access to the film for educational and community screenings, corporate employee screenings, and events for non-commercial purposes. 

Can we share the film at a virtual event (i.e., over Zoom)?

No. The streaming link Revive Our Ocean is providing is for in-person events only. It cannot be used for virtual events as the film will not play on a virtual platform (i.e., Zoom).

Can we accept donations at our Ocean with David Attenborough screening event?

No. The film’s legal terms specify that the film cannot be used for fundraising purposes, which includes donations. 

You may also not charge a fee or sell tickets to attend the event. However, you are welcome to secure sponsors to cover the cost of the event. It must be made clear that your organisation and/or event sponsors are not affiliated with the film and/or David Attenborough. If you secure sponsors, please call them “event sponsors.” 

Can we screen parts of the film instead of the full film?

No, the film must be shown in its entirety from start to finish.

How long does it take for our application to be reviewed?

Please allow up to three weeks for your request to be processed. 

If you submit a request for an event happening in under three weeks, please note we may not be able to review your request in time for your event.

How can we promote our event once it is approved?

Once your event is approved, we will share with you a screening and social toolkit via email that contains posters, social media copy, and more that you can use to promote the event.
